Weired Startup Discover on Windows

Recently i was format my pc and surprise by some terms that appear in start up program.

I don’t know where this term came from because normally i never see this appear when do the same thing before. Look at snap shot below and you know what i mean.

Did you see Device Name: BANANA? Do you familiar with that term?

If you know let me know too, this matter may not so important but just for elaborate our knowledge.

There is no trick or the photo was edited. I ask my friend and was shock too, he never see such term as long as he perform pc installation.

What is Banana device? Unknown so far. This weired to me.

New Asus Eee PC - Smart as you move

The devices is probably one of the most exciting UMPC news recently. Priced at RM1,299 for 4GB storage, the Eee PC is targeted at user who are always on the go and would like some entertainment on the side.

Only 7-inch in size, it equipped with WiFi , a solid state disk and the Asus Eee PC8GB version will be available by next year, 2008. Its runs on linux and is compatible with Windows XP for those who loyal and familiar with Windows legacy.

It also equipped with high definition audio speakers, so you will experience with CDs, DVDs movies happily. Also with Microphone and weighs less than 1 kg. Four colors will be made available only next year 2008.

Eee stands for ‘Easy to learn’, ‘Easy to work’, and ‘Easy to play’ which is Asus advertising/marketing slogan.

Ports you should block with you firewall

In order to configure a firewall, you will first need to identify the ports and Ip address using the big picture. In other words, if the IP address is the number of you PC buildings, then the opened ports are the apartments, where people are waiting for the door bell to ring. There are 65,535 ports which can be opened on you PC. Ports under 49,152 are provide for certain services. An open port is only useful when there’s a program behind it that can received data. All ports should be closed. closed all ports first, then reopen those to which you want to allow access. You can find several important programs and their corresponding ports in the table below.

21 FTp Server Open when you send files using FTP
22 SSH Server Important when you want to offer Secure Shell
25 SMTP For operating a mail server-when not in use don’t open
80 HTTP For operating a web server
110 POP3 *same as SMTP
